Today is the last day to post or comment to the blog. Links to all of your work are due to the dropbox by 2 p.m. Monday.
The social media audit is the last major assignment in the class. It will give you a chance to examine the social activity of a single organization in detail. If you’re not in class today, I highly suggest going to the class info folder to review the assignment as soon as you can.
The first step in the social media audit is to select a company or nonprofit organization to study. Only one person can study a single organization, and selection is on a first-come, first-served basis. I will begin accepting emails with your ranked choices at 3 p.m. today (after class), and you must email me before class begins on Wednesday or face a grade penalty on the project. The deadline is meant to encourage you to begin work on the project early so it’s not a lot of work in the last few days.
I ran across an interesting infographic last night that should interest you. Ragan Social Media showed the ideal length for all types of online content — Twitter, Facebook, Google+, paragraphs, domain names, hashtags, email subjects, headlines, podcasts, and more.
Reading for Monday: Piskorski Chapter 8, titled Social Strategies. You should pay attention to the two strategic approaches for companies who want to use social platforms. Also note the three elements of a successful social strategy.
